Meet the Doula

Hi!  Welcome to the Happy Home!  My name is Yonit Kasten.  I am married and live in Worcester with my husband and 4 children.  The first birth I attended was in November of 1998, and I was hooked.  Since then I have supported many families in their desire to have the best birth they can for their babies. 

I am certified through Childbirth International, and am now their trainer for the East Coast.  I love helping new doulas/childbirth educators.   If you have any questions or would like to talk to me about what doing this is like, feel free to e-mail me!

I believe that childbirth is a natural process.  However, each birth experience is unique and powerful in its own way.  My goal is to help families to become empowered  and have the experience that they want to have.  I believe in informed choice and evidence-based care - doing something because it is best for the patient based on all the information, and not just because "that's how it has always been done". 

I believe it is just as possible to have a c-section and come out of it feeling empowered, and just as possible to have a vaginal birth and feel like you had no control over the situation.  My goal is to help you feel that you had a wonderful birthing experience!
